- Abstract

Time is invaluable and irreversible for every aspect of human productivity. This study
tries to investigate how students at the Faculty of Languages- University of Aden allocate their
time in the various activities and its effect on their academic performance. The informants have
to report in a diary what they do over a week. They are volunteers from the third year students at
the Business English Programme at the Faculty of Languages. The results reveal that selfdirected
study has positive and significant correlation with the students' academic achievement.
Classroom attendance, entertainment, work, household work and other daily practices do not
correlate with the students' academic achievement. - Downloads
