Abstract

Career counseling has great importance for the students. But it is a big problem in our country that the students cannot get proper career counseling especially at higher secondary level so majority of them are unable to decide about their career. This study is aimed at investegating the 
need of career counseling at higher secondary level . The sample of this study consisted of 150 students including 90 hostel and 60 day scholar students. The students range of age was 15 to above 18 with income from Rs.30, 000 thousand to above Rs. 1,00000. The findings of the study 
revealed that the students at higher secondary level need career counseling necessarily because they have to select the field of profession for having the admission in professional institutions. The study also concludes that career counseling can be helpful to the students at higher secondary level in decision making about the professions.
