In Malaysia, the teaching and learning of English language is regarded as a second language. This is due to the fact that Malaysia owns diverse cultures with various languages used among people. Therefore, this paper will discuss about the influence of cultural diversity on second language acquisition among Malaysian students. From the analysis of selected articles, it is evident that cultural diversity place some influences in the learning and acquisition of second language. Although the cultural diversity has been viewed as the elements that bound the acquisition of the target language, it is noticed that there is a strong influence of native language over the learning of English among Malaysian learners. Therefore, it should be taken into consideration that cultural diversity may indirectly affluence the learning or acquisition of the second language among the learners.
