Abstract

The study is a small scale project undertaken primarily to focus on the language policy and the status of ELT in Assam (India). It traces the status and development of ELT in Assam. It also deals with the vision and prospects of ELT in the state. Finally, policy and operational issues are examined, each critical to the task of improving the reach and quality of ELT education.
