This article explores in detail one of the most problematic academic issues students face in classrooms; native and nonnative teachers. In order to get the ultimate results of this study, a questionnaire has been distributed among a group of 18 male and female level (A) students in the Foundation Year Programme-FY- at Ibri College of Applied Sciences in the Sultanate of Oman. The findings show that both native and nonnative teachers are good provided that they are highly qualified, experienced and dedicated. Moreover, both teachers-according to this study- have some merits: native speakers teach writing best, while nonnative speakers excel in teaching grammar. Implications and suggestions are discussed in detail in the article.
