Availability, sharing, and interpretation of information, and giving opportunities and challenges to learners, are drastically affected by online environments. One of the most urgent issues in this sphere is the growing rate of digital disinformation, denying people the opportunity to approach the sources of information critically. The necessity to introduce educational interventions to help students develop a critical attitude towards information literacy in educational institutions is discussed in this work. This is an issue since, in the absence of critical appraisal skills, normally inadequate regarding mass access to digital information, and hence end up accepting false or misleading information without questioning. The paper is theoretically and analytically based as it reviews and outlines the existing pedagogical models, scholarly sources, and methods of teaching information literacy. It examines how schools can enhance the capacity of the students to locate, assess, and apply information in a responsible manner when using digital environments by integrating formal learning, inquiry-based learning, and reflective learning. The results indicate that the most effective types of educational interventions are the ones that involve the use of both guided learning and active learning approaches, including the comparison of sources or group evaluation of online sources and context analysis. The educational interventions support increasing information authenticity, bias, and reliability among students. Also, it is possible to enhance the long-term capacity of students to cope with a complex information environment by introducing certain elements of critical thinking into the curriculum design. The research concludes with the finding that, instead of educational interventions, critical information literacy development needs continuous pedagogical involvement. Education systems must aim at introducing well-ordered yet flexible interventions that will allow the learners to hold a critical attitude towards the digital information ecosystem and make valid decisions in scholarly and real-life contexts.
