The initial year of teaching is a crucial stage in professional growth, which is usually associated with high rates of turnover and significant levels of emotional labor. Although teacher training programs have always emphasized pedagogic and subject expertise, the impact of Emotional Intelligence (EI) on the instructional competence of new teachers has rarely been examined. This research examines the relationship between EI and instructional competence among educators who started their careers within five years prior to the experiment (N=120). Using the Quantitative Correlational Design of Research, this study used the Wong & Law Emotional Intelligence Scale (WLEIS) to assess the levels of EI and developed an assessment tool based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching to measure teaching efficacy.
