Abstract

These poems collectively explore the pain, memory, spirituality, political conflict, and human suffering associated with life in Kashmir. Through reflections on places such as Wullar Lake and the shrine of Baba Shukr Shrine, the poet connects landscapes with buried histories of violence, military operations, loss, and trauma. Alongside these themes, the poems also express spiritual devotion and admiration for Prophet Muhammad, emphasizing compassion, forgiveness, justice, and humanity in response to hatred and misunderstanding. The final sections mourn brutal violence against innocent victims, exposing the silence, fear, and unresolved truth surrounding acts of oppression and abuse. Together, the poems portray Kashmir as a land marked by sorrow and resistance, yet sustained by faith, memory, hope, and the enduring search for truth and dignity.
