Abstract

This poem portrays the deep sorrow and helplessness of a grieving father who has lost his son, Ashraf, to violence. Set around the Jamia Masjid, the poem captures the emotional and physical suffering of a man broken by tragedy. Through the speaker’s observations, the poem reflects the devastating impact of conflict on ordinary families, where dreams of marriage, support, and peaceful old age are shattered by brutal loss.
