Abstract

The poem explores themes of identity, nationalism, memory, and the impact of violence on personal dreams and belonging. The speaker reflects on being questioned through an identity card, which leads to a deeper contemplation of lost aspirations and fractured connections with the nation. Childhood dreams filled with hope, joy, and patriotism are disrupted by violence and suffering. However, the sacrifices of martyrs continue to inspire the speaker and preserve the spirit of the nation within his dreams. The poem portrays a journey from confusion and loss toward resilience and the determination to rebuild identity and national belonging through remembrance and hope.
